Registering a will

Sunday Times have a good offer: free registration of Wills with certainty.co.uk [the national will register] until Sept 14 using code unbiased2014 in the promotions box. Not much point having a will if nobody can find it or knows of its existence. Usual cost of registration is £30. Will does not have to be newly made.

In that case how would anybody know it was registered with that company?. Not much point having a will if nobody can find it or knows of its existence. .This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
There are a number of companies offering this sort of service. The important thing is to tell your executors where the will is stored. If the will is drawn up by a solicitor they will usually offer safe storage free of charge. The Probate Registry of the High. Court offers will storage for £20. I see no good reason to use another service from a commercial company that might go out of business. A solicitor that closes will make arrangements for any wills to continue in safe storage. In that case how would anybody know it was registered with that company?0 -

You don't actually send them the will like you would if you used the Probate Registry.
You send the details of where your will is kept.
I wouldn't spend £30 on doing that but if it's free, some people might want to do it.0
