Credit card fraud

Has it ever happened to somebody? My son has to send a signed fraudulent form to Nationwide by fax. He has faxed them from Colombia and they are saying, it has not been received yet, this has happened before, fax sent from Guatemala, not received. NW is saying unless they get the signed fraudulent form by the 30th July, they will not able to claim the money from the merchant. I am a bit concerned now that NW can put these fraudulednt transactions approx £400+ back in his account through no fault of his. Surely there must be something in place if the customer cannot sign the fraudulent form. Procedures cannot always be followed to the letter. Please has anybody ever experienced this? Thanks

  • Do you and you son have access to a scanner/printer??

If so, and if you have a copy of the declaration form to hand, you could -

Scan the declaration and e-mail it to your son, who in turn could print the document off, sign it; scan and e-mail it back to you for you to print off and send to NationWide.

Unfortunately, the Banks are bound by agreed scheme timeframes; and as a result, require the document to be returned A.S.A.P - Act quick to avoid disappointment!!
