Return dried up bamboo?
Options
I have a bamboo plant here from Homebase, it had a few dead leaves on it when I bought it but I simply took them off, it's bamboo and it should be fine, I watered it but the leaves continued to get dry, on the back of the care card it said it needed sun part of the day, thinking it didn't have enough sun I put it in sunlight only to find all the leaves curled up when I got back in, looking online I read this was normal but the leaves continued to dry out, I thought it needed fertiliser and bought some, still no change, in fact all the leaves are now a pastel green, curled up and crispy.
Finally while looking online I read that many plants from the store are rootbound and that the efforts to revive them won't have any effect on such a plant. I had a look and sure enough the bamboo was rootbound
Right now I'm looking for a bigger plant pot, but I'm also thinking of returning the plant if after the transplant the bamboo still won't grow. So my question is, has anyone used the Homebase Plant Guarantee, and how did it go/work, what happened?
Also any advise on how to revive the plant and the chances that it will revive after/survive repotting would be most appreciated, thanks

Did you buy it in Homebase's recent 50% off sale of bamboo?
I got mine from them, have planted it in the ground after teasing out the circling roots from being in the pot and added some slow release organic fertiliser.
That said, I'd take yours back if its really too far gone.0 -
Please make sure you have planted it in a container in the ground. Bamboo is great but can get out of hand as our neighbour found out.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Yep, I planted the bamboo within a root container0

Yepthat very sale. Was it meant to be outdoor/in the ground then? I kept mine is indoors (I don't have a garden). Yea, it might be better to return it without troubling the pot...

Bamboo indoors is quite a challenge, they need more light than is usually available in a room and don't like the dry atmosphere of most houses, esp. with C/H
An easier indoor plant with a similar shape to bamboo is a kentia palm0 -

Homebase may give you your money back but you're probably the one who has killed the plant off.
If you want a houseplant, buy a houseplant.0 -
