Holdall on Ryanair

Hi Guys,
Just wondering what experiences that people have had using a Holdall on a Ryanair flight.
I am due to fly with them next week and I have a Holdall that measures 51.5 x 25 x 24.5 cm so it is only over on one dimension.
Do you think this will go through without me getting charged a fortune?
Cheers
David

If they spot it they will charge. So don't fill it up.0

I did exactly that last November, except that my holdall weighed about double the limit for hand luggage.
At the gate I noticed that they were checking the size of some people's baggage with the gauge so I knew that I should try not to be obvious. So I was carrying a coat, and sort of draped it partly over the holdall to make it less noticeable.
Anyway, I was fine. I think they registered that I was carrying a bag but did not say anything about it, nor check anything.
However, you might be less lucky than me.0 -
The temptation is to get another bag - even though there is only 4cm in it.
First time abroad so all this is new to me!0 -
If you have a floppy/flexible type holdall they usually fit into the gauges that are at the airports. My G/son always carries one and never fills it rigid, never had a problem.
Good luck and enjoy your trip.

Check the base - some holdalls have a bit of removeable board which can be removed to make the bag more floppy, so you should be able to squidge it to 20cm.0

Just checked - its not removable. It is quite flexible though and I am not planning to have it filled to the brim.
Should be ok....... famous last words!0 -
Always carry a heavy duty dustbin bag with you if you have any doubts.0
