PPI - old loan accounts

I have had many loans over the years, all of which were closed well over 6 years ago (some of them a lot further back than that!). I can't remember who they were all with, although I do remember having ones with Northern Rock, Nationwide and Lombard at some point. Is there any way I can find out details of these loans or an address I can write to? None of them appear on my credit report as they are all too old.

Thanks

There is no central database of finance, if you can't find them on your credit records you will have to use your own records/paperwork or memory.

You could try ringing the companies and provide as much info as possible (maiden name if married, old address etc) and see what they have, if they can't find you, you can send a SAR request to each firm along with payment for £10 (which will probably be a waste) to see what records they have left - there is a guide to this on the PPI forum in the "stick" topic.

Remember also, having PPI is not the same as being mis-sold it - if you can't remember the details it'll be hard to come up with a legitimate complaint that you can prove

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
