Nope, it just means that the analogy isn't accurate. It's not my place to judge whether the OP was right or wrong.

The point of my post is that if individuals are to be held to a certain standard in their financial dealings then that same standard should be applied to the financial providers which it currently isn't.

Exactly. Right now, Halifax owe me well over £100 due to errors on their part, and they've acknowledged they owe me the money. I have written to them and made several phone calls, so far to no avail. I'd like to put a mark on their credit file which would stop them lending to people during the next six years. How can I do this Thrugelmir?

Hi everyone, I'm new here and just looking for a lil advice. It has probably been asked a million times before but I will go ahead and ask anyway :)

I am currently saving to hopefully get a mortgage with my partner and was wondering what the effects of late payments will be? I have 5 late payments on my file but they where only late by one month each and all where paid in full. Im really worried that this is going to affect our chances and I dont want to let him down.

Any advice would be amazing, thank you!

Wow, alot of strong opinions here.

The forum user asked for simple advice.

Kate54 - can you eloborate a little on the 5x late payments, were they all in one month (say Aug-13) or in 5 seperate months?

What caused the late payments (financial difficulty/forgetfulness/laziness etc)?

How has your payment history been since then?

What other credit do you have?

Will you be debt free by the time you apply for a mortgage?

    What deposit will you have?

Ignore the soapbox party, they like to argue amongst themselves and prove who is right/has the best analogy/can pick holes in other users innocent questions... and for christ sake don't mention a credit score!

We're all here to help, just need more info to do so.
