Amazon courier deliveries

I was waiting in for a courier delivery and had a tracking code so I knew it was in the window for delivery. Waited and kept watching the tracking record- "Out for delivery". No sign of Amazon courier but the web log changed to "Delivered , signed for by ****". Walked to street and had a look and there 4 doors away was my package leaning against the door. Other house has a name that to someone thick and dyslexic could be construed as vaguely similar to ours although it has a lot less letters.
So not only did the courier deliver to the wrong house he just dumped the package and put a false name into his handset.

I will now not use Amazon if delivery is designated as by Amazon Courier , post or other courier OK.

A dyslexic person is unlikely to mistake a word for one with a lot less letters. Such a shame that a valid complaint is overshadowed by your ignorance.
  • You should just report them as this may happen again to someone... I always seem to get a good serice here.... There are always bad delivery drivers but their companies always want to hear about them!

commonly very poor spelling, which has been called dysorthographia or dysgraphia (orthographic coding), whole-word guesses, and tendencies to omit or add letters or words when writing and reading are considered tell-tale signs.

    Ignorance is thine.

Better stop ordering from Amazon then, once you are in an Amazon Logistics area almost everything gets delivered by them even smaller items that would normally be sent by post.

As I said in my OP, I choose , if delivery is by Mail or merchants courier OK, if it is stated to be Amazon Logistics I take my custom elsewhere.

You won't know that until they dispatch it though, even selecting 1st Class doesn't indicate that it will be Royal Mail.
  • I spent all day on Wednesday at home waiting for my parcel from Amazon after receiving an email saying delivery was due that day. At half past two I received an email saying they were unable to deliver as there was no one to receive the parcel! My friend was visiting me at the time and she didn't hear anyone either, I have a small house on one level. No one rang the doorbell or left a card! I doubt they came anywhere near my house.

I got onto Amazon chat and they asked me if I would like delivery the next day? I said I'm not spending another day sitting at home for someone to simply not deliver my parcel again. I've had problems for ages now. I used to buy a lot from Amazon but due to constant delivery issues I've now decided not to buy from them anymore, they don't care, they simply offered me a refund and told me that I could shop wherever I liked.

My last parcel was left with a neighbour which I only found out once I had emailed to ask where my parcel was, again no card. The neighbours went on holiday that day and I had to wait two weeks for them to return to get my parcel.

I think their customer service is shocking and have recently bought the same items from another site which always delivers on time, always has free postage, and the items I wanted was half the price.

I have made it clear that I do not want items left with neighbours but they still do it regardless of my wishes.

They're a large company so obviously they don't care but I choose where I spend my hard earned cash and it is no longer with them.

You know that when you go to checkout , it will say "delivery fulfilled by Amazon Logistics"

Similar issue and now I despair with Amazon!
I ordered something and was told it would be delivered on Wednesday, standard mail.

I was in town for a course yesterday and got a note saying "We're delivering on Tuesday"

I got no notification of it being delivered, despite having instructions in my details to use the secure lock box, and instructions on my front door.
Nothing in the secure box... nothing telling me if it had been left with a neighbour.

Rang them up and complained and was told that because I bought direct from a different company and only fulfilled by Amazon they would give me a full refund. The details they got from the courier was "signed for by the resident" which was obviously a lie. They then rang the depot and said that their paperwork just says "delivered" not if it was signed for, and by whom.

My neighbour has just knocked on my door, hand me a soggy parcel that had been caught in not one but two bouts of rain that she just found when she returned home, left behind a plant pot - contents, one ruined electrical item!

I left feedback about how terrible the suppliers were and got the usual "it's not us, it's the couriers we use"... just how is that my issue??

It's not the first time I have had issues - I once heard the secure box being opened (big metal thing right in the path on the way to the front door... so I galloped downstairs as they hadn't knocked on the door - they left it in there with the door wide open - instructions say to push the lock in to close.

Another time I found a parcel in my wheelie bin by the gate, snugly nestled in among my giveaway bin bags!!!!

    Seriously what???
