Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has heard of a situation where someone changes their admittance of liability after the event ? Its all bizarre in that the person admitted liability, the insurance company then informed us to get the car fixed. One fixed they said that they had now closed the claim. A few weeks later we received notification from the insurance company that the other party had now had second thoughts and now don't accept liability. Just wondering if anyone had heard of this sort of thing and what will happen as the work has been completed ! Any help greatly appreciated

Happens a lot. Someone causes an accident and admits it then speaks to a few people who tell them it was your fault and they can claim compensation from you.
Or their insurer decides that they were not at fault for some reason.
Did you claim from your own policy? You will lose some of your no claims and have to pay the excess until they settle up.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Which is "the insurance company", yours or theirs?
If its theirs and they've already settled your case then it'd be unusual but not unheard of. If its yours then its fairly common.
It'd be easier with an exact timeline to guess but there are all sorts of reasons why it happens. Can be witnesses come to light, TP never admitted liab and the call centre op just filled in the system wrong etc etc0 -
had you made a personal injury claim to the other party's insurer before they withdrew the liability admission?0

The claim was against the "other driver's" policy as they admitted liability0 -

It was mine, as they had been told by the other insurance company that their driver had admitted fault.0 -
