NISA rules

Hi I think we may have got a bit confused over ISA/NISA.

We had a maturing ISA at Santander which we transferred into a new fixed rate ISA May 2014. We put no new money in it for this tax year at that time and can no longer put money into that one.

Can we open a new ISA for 2014/5 to put this years allowance in. Or is the only way to transfer everything to a new NISA then add additional funds

thank you

As you put no additional money in your existing ISA this tax year, you are free to open and add money to a new one.

    Yes you can.

But I'm not sure why you'd bother at the moment unless you are using the S&S option as rates are so much better outside an ISA.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
