How hard is it to set up calendar reminders to avoid this sort of thing. Your mobile/tablet/computer will then tell you.

if you did not receive any renewal information then it is asda insurance that are at fault

the post office are not at fault in any way so you will have no joy complaining to the post office

the government have changed the system and dropped the need for insurance checks when taxing your car at the post office, they said the checks made when a vehicle is taxed is an unnecessary burden on motorists

You have consistently been told you hold the wrong belief!

(But you were pretty lucky the police impounded your car after watching you drink all those pints and didn't just move in with the breathalyser after doing you over the insurance just to make your day)

He didn't get a tax reminder either! (He presumably didn't tell his insurer of his house move as well as the DVLA - meaning his insurance could be void anyway if he had any)

Even iif the post office were at fault (they weren't!), it appears you've been driving without insurance for four months. Who do you blame for that?

There is always a possibility of course - but in nearly 40 years it hasn't happened yet.

But at my age of course I'm probably seen as a silly old senile fart who's forgotten what he had for lunch yesterday.

I envy all you young whippersnappers with your hi-tech computer/tablet/smart-phone kit that does all your thinking for you - not.

Your bad for not keeping fings updated - innit?

Little sympathy at all for you.

It's your responsibility - nobody else's - 100% certainly not the Post Office.

    Serious now:

You need to check the wording of all your motor insurance policies to see when the different insurers require you to notify any material changes.

Some insurers require immediate notification, others say notify at renewal.

Failure to notify your conviction + points & new address to any that require immediate notification could allow them to void your policy in the event you make a claim or one is brought against you.

This driving without insurance may well mean heavy increases in premiums and some insurers not wanting you at all at renewal.

Do dummy quotes now with and without the conviction in your history to get an idea of what increase you face on your multiple policies and get saving up.
