declined??? but good credit score?????

ok so i applied for my credit card 12months ago and for some reason they declined i looked at my credit report and it had nothing on it that could cause them to say no.??? and my score was good so i appealed and they said i could have a credit card now recently i applied for a credit card to transfer my balance over and guess what ? declined so why the only thing i can think of is i missed a direct debit two months ago ive looked again on my credit report and my score is good ????? i really dont understand why i have been declined a card again i dont want to carry on doing this it might affact my credit rating and want to find out why ive been declined but can not seem to get a straight answer.

please if anyone has any clues please help me!!!

ok so i can only find one missed payement and that was over 5 years ago. my wage is about 17,800 after tax i generally have a good amount saved and any spare money at the end of the month i half and half goes into a savings and other half goes to MEEEE! (giggle)
