pond possible?

Hi and TIA for reading and any help/advice
I have frogs in my garden every year and have kept an area where they seem to hide and thrive. I have the glass bowl from a broken Halogen oven available and was wondering if I could use it as a (really :o) small pond in this area.
Any thoughts/ideas/advice re: use/planting etc will be gratefully received.
Many thanks
Juju :)

Static water will silt up and you risky it turning into a smelly pool of slime.

    How big is this bowl?

  • Thanks, that was the kind of thing i was wondering about, the bowl will hold 12 litres. I have had a quick google and can see some planted small containers but still not sure:cool: don't want to create an eyesore:eek:

I sank a large plastic plant pot into the soil, slung in some pond weed and left it. Within two weeks the weed had started to grow and the water was clear. That was about 5 years ago and every spring frogs come and spawn in it. I've planted some small plants round it and it makes a lovely addition to my garden. :T

Frogs do live without water. We have frogs in our garden. I have seen two at the same time. We do not have a pond nor do the gardens either side of us.

Yes we have frogs but no ponds, that I am aware, of in the vicinity - but I would like to ensure that they stay:T
