Not an everyday purchase or store, but Harvey Nichols Leeds really know how to gouge punters with the above.
It is generally £40-45 a bottle. Harvey Nics will relieve you of £72.:eek::eek:

So they can say they've reduced it for Christmas no doubt?
It's fairly standard practice.0 -
Harvey Nichols liquor department is crazy overpriced! The rest of the store while it may stock expensive items they are priced the same as other stores. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

So... Don't buy it.
Tesco sell 2litre bottles of Pepsi for £1.98, Asda sell them for £1. Its not rocket science.0 -
Try Jerry's instead (if you don't know it - keep walking up Briggate, cross the road (Clas Olson on one corner, Primark on other), and it's on the right hand side.)
They do a great range of some really nice whisky in there!0 -
Are you sure it was a "standard" bottle you were looking at as some of the distillers edition and special release ones are at around the price level you are quoting.0

I wonder if they offer a discount if you buy a case :rotfl:
Husband still hasn't forgiven me for the single malt I ordered at the Royal Livingstone. It was $50 for a single measure  He really should be thankful I didn't ask for a double

At that age it isn't for drinking.
I have tasted 48 year old and it wasn't pleasant. 32 year old was excellent.
Standard is 16 year old, £40ish unless you go to Harvey Nics.0 -
