Is this direct debit a scam?

I went onto my account and found a 'Sundry Debts Direct Debit' listed as scheduled to come out. What is this? Could it be a scam?
If someone could shed some light I would be so grateful as this is causing me a lot of anxiety.

Do you pay for any other council services?0

Could it be a leasehold payment on the property you own....
Could it be a payment for services from the council.
I wouldn't worry about it. If you have not authorized it you can ring the bank and they'll reverse the transaction.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Hi I'm really sorry I had a brain fart. The Allpay is my service charge and the TWBC is the council tax!!
What's really worrying me is the Sundry Debts DD though. Any ideas?0 -

Do you think the Sundry Debts DD is from the council? The answer is no, though.0 -

Google "sundry debts direct debit" and it only comes up with council links so it could be something to do with the council.:footie:

A requirement of the Direct Debit Scheme is that you are given advance notice (usually 10 days, but may be less if you have agreed otherwise) of any direct debit payment including the amount and date of payment.
If such payment is taken without appropriate advance notice, that is against the rules of the direct debit scheme and you are fully protected by the terms of the Direct Debit Guarantee. Any such claim should be made direct to your bank who will be required to refund you immediately.
(You may also be able to claim consquential losses such as bank charges incurred as a direct consequence of the wrongful direct debit payment, but the bank are not obligated to refund these immediately)
Check what mandates exist on your account - the payment will definitely be for one of those. If there is a mandate that you do not approve of, or recognise, cancel it.0
