Upgrade the processor in my laptop....

Ok I want to upgrade the processor in my Acer Travelmate 2300 cause its pretty crap.

Does anyone know if this is possible???

In a word... no.

I've never come across a laptop that allows you to upgrade the cpu. Typically they're soldered on because of the limited space inside.

I guess the question is why do you feel the cpu needs upgrading as a 1.3GHz is more than I've got in mine! Laptops were designed for office people on the move, and for that they do a pretty good job.

What applications are you trying to run? Make sure you've got plenty of ram installed as this can often make a huge difference when running things like Office. Also make sure you've not got loads of spyware/trojans/virus because they all use up resources. If it's the latest games, then a video upgrade would be needed, again not something you see commonly in a laptop.

1.3 compared to the rest of the computer is pretty crap. 512 memory, 60gb hard drive....., if it was over 2ghz id b happy!
