Benefits Integrity Centre phone call, worried, please help!?

Hi, im on income support and had a phone call from an 0800 number, on further investigation online i have found out its from the benefits integrity centre.
Im wondering if this call was made because somebody rang tthe dwp making a malicious call. I have a spiteful family member.
Are these calls routine and standard? Nobody has contacted me before and ive been in receipt of IS for 10 years.
Also, if it was malicious, would another department have contacted me and not the benefits integrity centre?
Many thanks, please help because im getting paranoid about people close to me and my circumstances have certainly not changed!!

If your circumstances haven't changed you have absolutely nothing to worry about, assuming the information you provided originally was accurate of course.
How would DWP know if information it receives has been provided maliciously or not? They are duty bound to investigate. The Benefits Integrity Centre is there to do exactly what it says in the name.0 -

Thanks, my circumstances have not changed. The dwp wouldnt know if a call was malicious or not. My question, ultimately, was...if a malicious and lying call was made to the dwp, would it be the BIC that would contact me, or different fraud-like department0 -

The intergrity department deals with fraud, if a claim does not have integrity then it is fraudulent.
If you have been 100% honest then you have absolutely nothing to worry about. They cannot find evidence of something that doesnt exist.0 -

Is it definitely IS you have been claiming for the past ten years? In other posts you talk about ESA, JSA and working, all of which would overlap somewhat with IS.0 -
In June 2013 you appear to be working0

I had one of those calls last month, and the time before it was a Benefits Integrity Centre form, i think its just quicker to get called than fill form out and send it off. Just tell the truth and if nothing as changed at your end, there shouldn't be a problem.0
