Voluntary redundancy

Hi
My job is at risk from redundancy and if I opt for voluntary redundancy would that effect any future claims for Job Seekers allowance i may have to claim in the future?
Obviously my intentions are to find another job as I have never been in a situation to have to seek help from the state.
Would the goverment view any future claim from me as leaving my job because i took voluntary redundnacy

Thanks

You can still get contributions based JSA after voluntary redundancy providing you qualify on the basis of contributions made during the relevant period.

Taking VR might affect your entitlement to claim on a mortgage protection policy as the insurer may take the view that you have made yourself deliberately unemployed. If you do have mortgage protection I would suggest reading the small print carefully.
