You need to open your mail sooner. Your condition has not helped but in the end your mail unopened for months is nobodies fault but your own.

I don't understand why you should want to pay up front with a credit card, if you have a credit account with them. It makes no sense.....

It is normal, if you want to pay them off, to order them, then get the statement and then just pay the statement off in full.

I don't think you have a leg to stand on to be honest, regarding deducting anything. They haven't done
    anything wrong.

Do you not check credit card statements either or your banks statements where you say you paid the credit card. I have a feeling that you are remembering it wrongly.

I had a credit account with Very and I never got an option to pay upfront, also when I tried to purchase something from Next online, it set me up a credit account straight away.
If you're adamant that you paid, can you not check your past CC statements?

Well done for getting stronger. :)
Sometimes mail can be hard to cope with, life can be hard enough :) !

Going forward, do you have anyone who could help you go through your mail ? Xx I find having a little filing box and an in -out tray can help

In the scale of things, you are doing really well.
Give yourself a pat on the back.
You were expecting emails-this company didn't send them - but you've learned from that.
