Do I need to send a photo to renew driving licence if I have a new digital passport?
I am filling in the form to renew my driving licence. As far as I can tell if I have a new digital passport (which I do) I don't need to send any proof of identity. Just the passport number.
Do I also need to send a separate photo or will they pick that up from my passport record?

You don't need to send a physical photo as they will pick it up electronically from your filed passport photo.
That is what they did with my licence a year or two ago anyway.0 -
if you have a biometric passport that was issued in the last five years then the DVLA can use the photo and the signature from you passport for your new photo card driving licence0

I think i am correct saying that you can use your passport photo when applying online
I still think if you apply by post you need to send in a photo
this info may have changed recently but as i understand it is still the case0 -
You have to go on the government gateway.
I couldn't get logged in so did it at my local post office that had a special booth to take the picture.
Got my new licence back in less than a week0 -
Yes, I did this yesterday. You can do it all on line and link photo and signature to your passport which was quick and easy.I think i am correct saying that you can use your passport photo when applying online

Or you still have the option of getting a new photo done and posting it the old fashioned way.0
