MoneySupermarket Debiting Funds?

Hi there,

Yesterday I was having a mooch around MoneySupermarket.com for the best Credit Card. I picked one and have been approved for it, just waiting for the card to come now.

However, I've just checked my online banking and MS.com have debited £14.15 from my bank account? They aren't open to call and I want to know what the payment is for as soon as possible.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Natalie.

Err, how did they debit funds from your bank account? Did you give your bank account or debit card details to them?

As far as I know, MoneySupermarket don't have a any usage fees for their services.
  • I had to put my sort code and account number in when they credit checked me, but I don't recall entering my card details?
  • I think you have been using a scam site (by the looks of it) - tell your bank NOW - phone them NOW to stop them taking any more money.
It will not be the real Moneysupermarket site that has taken your money.
  • The thing is, I didn't deviate from the mobile website. Nothing in the address bar changed, I'm so confused. I'll call my bank now anyway, thank you.
  • Called my bank (Lloyds), they claim that MS.com are a broker - therefore they can take admin fees or whatever other crap out of my account?? The only thing I can do is cancel my card. Can't cancel CPA, can't get a chargeback, can't open a dispute and I can't stop further payments coming out of my account from them.

I need my card this weekend. How can they just take payments willy nilly without my permission?

  • Oh no sorry, I was just shortening moneysupermarket.com when I was typing. Lol it won't let me post the page I was using because I'm a new user.. But it was just the normal website.

Retrace your steps and post the link (broken with spaces or Xs as you cannot post live URLs) that ultimately had you input your bank account details in.

You went to the moneysupermarket site and picked a card company. Which onew did you pick?

I just did that, Chose balance transfer cards and it took me straight to the Barclaycard website that i chose. What options did you choose?

Nowhere did it ask for my bank details. I think you may have mistyped the moneysupermarket site or somehow gone to a brokers site instead.
