Help me with this, should I paint the window surrounds?

What do you think? Would it be odd to have oak coloured in all rooms except one? Or would it be okay? I want to put venetian blinds in all the rooms, which shade should I get? Matching? Darker? I just dont know!!

Actually, it's OK to have whatever you fancy. Something is not "wrong" just because someone else says that it is.

Do what you want. Of course it won't silly if one is a different colour to the others - you can't see the others.

And you can get varnished wood back after you've painted it by stripping and sanding.

My personal opinion is that they date the interior quite heavily and hold no architectural merit. They are overbearing.
