Defaults removed but credit rating is still low

I have had a default recently removed from my credit file. I have registered to be on the electoral roll but it hasn't showed up on my credit file. My credit score is low. I have credit build cashplus account and Captial One card.
My girlfriend has got a good credit score and we are both work and our baby is due in November. We want to buy a house before then for obvious reasons.
Should we try and get a mortgage or will be turned away straight away due to my low credit score?
Any tips or advice anyone can give is welcome.

Why haven't you registered on the electoral roll previously. It's no good registering just before you decide to buy a house. Not how the world works.0

A potential mortgage lender won't see your credit score, they will see the raw data on your credit file.
Usually the best advice is to speak to an independant mortgage broker with copies of your credit files and details of your finances/size of deposit etc.
I assume you know this but the chance of you buying a house before November is very slim if you don't yet have a mortgage agreement in principle or an offer accepted on a house.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Neither you nor your girlfriend have a credit score as credit scores do not exist.0

We have a mortgage in principle and we have had an offer accepted on a place yesterday. Does that mean?0
