Hi,
I didn't redeem my voucher immediately, and when I thought I did, I actually didn't, .The voucher expired 29 Aug 2014. However, it was redeemed before this date
Which is it?
If you redeemed the voucher and it is showing as redeemed in your Groupon account your query is with the merchant.
Have you asked Groupon for contact details of the merchant?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Firstly apologies for not answering your question. The voucher expired 29 Aug 2014. However, it was redeemed before this date so it was valid when I aimed the services and goods from the merchant. That is all in order. It breaks down when Groupon won't help and I cannot contact the merchant.
I'm short, it is a case of where do I stand with regard to consumer rights?
I appreciate your help, but your tone is condescending. Despite your disparaging assertion, I'm not looking for excuses or wanting someone to cover me. I want the merchant to provide the service and goods I paid for.
The Dixons gift card analogy is slightly different because I would deal solely with them after paying for the card. However, if Dixons were to sell me a giftcard for Sony which I then redeemed but the goods were not subsequently provided, to whom do I direct my query?
Its feeling condescending because you kept avoiding what anyone is writing on the thread and not answering the question (multiple times) and putting up analogies that make no sense whatsoever to your case.
Your opening post says you tried but likely due to rushing did something wrong.
A gift card is an alternative form of payment, as is a voucher. redeeming these forms of payment is subject to terms, which you must abide by, by breaking those terms then payment doesnt have to be offered.
You failed to redeem before the point of expiry so the voucher is now null and void. They are not obliged to provide you as the period within which you agreed to use the voucher has gone. That's the whole point of this conversation which we are finally getting to.
You didn't redeem your voucher, you openly state that, therefore they are not failing to provide goods you paid for within the terms of the sale with Groupon.
They cannot provide something you did not action.0 -
The issue that you have is that the product you bought from Groupon a voucher to redeem by 29th August. You admit that you received the correct product from them, therefore there has been no breach from them.
The fact you cannot use the product after the 29th August is not Groupon's fault. In addition you have no contract with the retailer.0 -
I said "I didn't redeem my voucher immediately", but I redeemed it before the expiry.
Anyway, thanks for the advice.Thanks,

No, what you actually said was:I didn't redeem my voucher immediately, and when I thought I did, I actually didn't
What does the bit in bold mean?
I'll ask once again, does the voucher show as redeemed in your Groupon account, or does it show as expired?
Goodness, it's like pulling teeth.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
