FU failed to comply with ombudsman

  • It is strangely comforting to know I'm not the only one having trouble with FU and the EO. In my case the problems began when an old 'imperial' meter had to be replaced because of a leak. It's taken FU 12 months to update their records with the new details for a metric meter, in the mean time we've been charged for 2.83 times as much gas as we've actually used i.e. the conversion factor to make imperial metric.

The EO told them to sort it out, they still haven't but how about this for sneaky? FU changed my account number, transferring most but not all of the payments made in the last 15 months, the date we opened our account, and have recalculated all our gas and electricity usage over the period. Readings are still incorrect, DD's they've received not accounted for correctly and I'm now told that not only do I owe them money on my new account but also on the old account.

You can imagine there are lots of phonecalls and many details which I would never bore you with but I really do feel at the end of my tether. Especially because the EO are saying they will continue to work with FU to resolve the original complaint but that the issues with the new account will have to be treated as a new complaint.

Even if it doesn't make a difference isn't it nice to have somewhere to vent:)

I'm sure I'll be escalating this with EO eventually..... Or maybe I should just stop paying FU and wait for them to take me to court for unpaid bills.... If only I didn't have an excellent credit rating that I simply don't want to damage.
If anything I say starts to make sense, PANIC!

you dont always stress with everything, do you claim for when the lottery is been drawn for the stress waiting?

    Oh is that right?

I have had 2 and a half years misery due to these w**kers, no bills paid to them, not one bean, get away from them? Cannot be done, even with the Energy Ombudsman intervening.

did you ask eo for compo for waiting while the processed?
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
