Sorry if this question has already been asked/answered but I've not got long online.
The Tesco Current Account gives club card points on purchases, it says it excludes certain thinks (financial transactions, cash back, ATMs, gambling transactions) the stuff you'd expect.
If I went into a supermarket (not Tesco) and bought a basket of groceries and got cash back, how could they tell?

Through the transaction codes associated to the purchase and cashback, you wont see it on your bank statement but tesco processing will, same way as santander 123 account allocate the cashback for there qualifying transactions.

Buy a bag of groceries and get £20 cash back doesn't it all go through as one transaction? If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.

Nope.
Some banks show it as one transaction, but it will be coded behind the scenes as for example, £15.00 "goods" and £20.00 "cash advance".
Some banks show it separately:43580
