We had a ppi payout last November however how do I know its correct, can I ask the bank to re calculate.it was a sizeable sum,but when we first enquired about a claim just one of the accounts we were told about nearly equaled what our total re payment was.

You would have been given the calculations along with the cheque/letter.
Is there anything that makes you think that it is not correct.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Only if you can provide evidence that you paid more than was awarded. Why would you only seek to do this now, ten months after accepting the payout? Can I ask the bank to re calculate.
How could just the one of three accounts equal what you were paid out? Are you mistakenly adding the cost of the loan? You won't get loan or loan interest back-just the PPI, attendant interest and 8% simple interest.
As McNeff says, you will have received a breakdown of the refund plus interest that you were awarded at the time. The Bank will also have specified exactly which accounts they were refunding..0 -
The reason for enquiring about it now is I very recently heard people were not receiving the correct amount and the banks were short changing people.0

There do appear to be instances where, for example, comparative redress was paid rather than full redress. However, nothing you have said indicates that might be the case here. The reason for enquiring about it now is I very recently heard people were not receiving the correct amount and the banks were short changing people.
What does the letter you received at the time say? Where you awarded full redress or a "goodwill" payment? Where all three of your accounts successfully complained about? These are all questions you should have satisfied yourself about last year.0 -
Why not post the details of the figures from the offer letter?

'Appear to be instances', are you having a laugh, 2.5 million cases have to be re-opened and reviewed
How would the OP have been able to satisfy themselves if they don't know the process and system.0 -

I suppose you would suggest that the OP employ a Claims Management Company (as long as they charge less than 10% of courseaddedvaluebob wrote: »How would the OP have been able to satisfy themselves if they don't know the process and system.
) to explain the "process and system".
By the way, time you learned to use that "quote" button when you post!

You don't know anything about the actual case details and yet leapt in with a comparative redress comment.
I will take your tongue in cheek recommendation to use a CMC, but thought I had suggested posting on here. Please don't confuse my comment and discussion points as being a fixed point in time. In another thread there is post suggesting that 6% for a pension transfer is an okay fee, when I think that anything over about £500 is too much for a bit of typing. The problem with CMC's is that most are cr*p many are crooked and pretty much 99% charge too much.0 -
..and you know just as little about the case but "leapt in" just the same with a "2.5 million" comment!:paddedvaluebob wrote: »You don't know anything about the actual case details and yet leapt in with a comparative redress comment
I was going to "thank" your comment until you said only 99% charge too much. 100% of CMCs charge too much (including your 10% oneaddedvaluebob wrote: »The problem with CMC's is that most are cr*p many are crooked and pretty much 99% charge too much.
