Can anyone tell me if 6mm bond cable is still ok to use as I have just had an electrical quote telling me it has to be redone at 10 mm. Thank you

I don't think it has to be , I think that is just the current standard if I want to get the electric certificate. I am asking if it is necessary to upgrade since I am not having any electrical work done.Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. Wiring regs aren't applied retrospectively. If it met the rules in force at the time it was installed then that's fine. However, if you do any work on the installation then it will probably need uprating - depending on what the work is (adding new fixed circuits, changing Consumer Unit, etc.)0
