Working part time

Hi all, i was after some advice about any benefits i may be entitled to claim when i start working part time...

My wife has been ill for a month now and might be like this for a few more months so i applied to go part time to help look after her and my 11 month old daughter...

I earn around 15k and going part time it'll reduce my wage to 13k... i receive Working tax credits and child benefit at the moment...

So if anyone can advise me that'll be great...

Are you receiving Child Tax Credits too? Depending on your wife's condition, she might be able to get Disability Living Allowance. For that she has to have had the problems for 3 months and expect them to last for 6 months. It is worth having a word with your local Citizens Advice Bureau or other welfare benefits adviser in your area if you think this could be the case. DLA has two element, mobility and care, and they can be awarded seperately or together.
