House buyers insist on 'No vote' clause for Scottish purchases

Hi... The bank in question may well move it's headquarters South of the border or Scotland may continue to use the pound and be backed by the BOE as a lot of people are expecting ....
I really despair at the flippant regard which has been given to such remarks. A central bank must have the full support of the national government. Effectively this means that the accumulated wealth and future earnings of the nation guarantee the bank .... importantly, without limitation. It's not like setting up a limited company, it's a case of all in, that's effectively everything ... from everybody.
Now, considering the above, what is being described is effectively a case of everybody in an independent country betting their entire everything on the decisions of a government & central bank in another country .... how is this classified as independence ??
From the opposite viewpoint, if my next door neighbour is a good friend who looked to establish a business which I believed was potentially unstable, would I reasonably be expected, on an unlimited liability basis, to be guarantor for his business loan ? .... If I believe that the business could fail, would I reasonably be expected to expose myself to losing my own assets without even demanding a seat on the board of the new company in return for the risk exposure ? .... This is effectively the foundation of the argument that the r-UK government and the r-UK population would really support and allow the BOE to stand behind a neighbouring country's economy ... and it's expected to happen without bringing down any r-UK government which proposed it ??

Alex Salmond being as far left as is possible probably is of the opinion that ALL ownership of property is theft :-)
He will probably do a Fidel Castro if he wins and share all the property out equally, cannot help think that Hamish will be ******* himself over the next few weeks.
Personally I hope Scotland do make a clean break, and I honestly believe that Nothern England would probably join them if they could. The Tories are 100% to blame for this(me being a Tory voter on the odd occasion), for too long they have put too much emphasis on London and the South East and ignored the rest of the Kingdom.0 -
I see a 2-bed flat in North Korea is about $3,000 on the black market, as property owning is illegal in the socialist utopia.
Can't see any fundamentals why iScotland would be different.0 -

The decline of British industry (in particular heavy) over the past 100 years has nothing to do with any one Government.0 -
Agree, in almost every case the root cause is a short term view driven mainly by greed (whether institutional or employee) resulting in the relevant industries becoming uncompetitive on the international stage ... of course, governments simply make an easy target when 'smoke & mirrors' become necessary for the culprits to apportion blame elsewhere as a form of self preservation ....Thrugelmir wrote: »The decline of British industry (in particular heavy) over the past 100 years has nothing to do with any one Government."We are what we repeatedly do, excellence then is not an act, but a habit. in what way do you think that the government places too much emphasis on the SE?
do you not thinks it's growth is related to private enterprise in any way or the choice of foreigners to settle in London and the SE rather than the other parts of the country.0 -
