Initial Letter sent to wrong branch

Dear All
Can anyone advise me on the following -
I have issued my initial letter to HSBC [Birmingham branch] to claim back bank charges only to realise that the HSBC branch my account is with is actually in Stafford.
I work in Birmingham and have had most dealings with them on other issues [loans, overdraft etc].
Should I wait for the 14 day period to expire before moving onto the next stage if I do not hear anything?
Or should I restart the proceedure and re send my initial letter to the correct branch?
