Dogsarecool have you thought about going to your local Baptist church? Don't worry - you don't have to be that religious. Don't have to believe at all really.We started going to our local Baptist church 18 months ago and (excuse the pun) it is a revelation!
Really (Really) friendly people. Helpful. Non judgmental. Great songs of worship. Informal. Lots of coffee, tea and cake, lots of meetings during the week, there's even a sowing club! A cafe. A running club. I hope you get the picture.
If you have a local baptist church I urge you to give it a try for a few weeks. The best part of met local church is the community feel and genuine care shown to everyone. Making everyone feel welcome.
Its so different to what I have been used to before and so much more rewarding. Fun! You also don't need a lot of money and there's no pressure to contribute each week. If you do try it please do come back and let us know how you got on.
