Hello

I am a scottish power customer.
I am on a three year fixed tariff, the cancer care one which ends in jan 2017.
I am supposed to give meter readings, but I am a month late with the reading as I just realised I forgot to give a reading in August.
As I have not given a reading, can they charge me a fee or penalise me in any way?

Thanks in advance :)

With BG this would just mean you get an estimated bill, no penalty.

Don't worry you'll probably get away with a suspended sentence or community service for a first offence.

    hahhahahahahahhaha :)

Part of the conditions of the package is to give meter readings. I might ring them up later and ask if I am submit my reading a month late, better late than never :)

As far as I know you can give meter readings at any time, whatever tariff you are on.Since SP started estimating my bills before the due date,I have been inputting the readings at the beginning of every month. The computer then produces a bill a few days later and I can keep tabs on what i am using.

I assume you are registered for online readings etc.If so just input the readings now and remember to do it on the 1st of every month.

I am fairly certain there won't be a penalty, and even if they have grossly over estimated(which they have a habit of doing) it will right itself as soon as you put in the correct ones.

    Hi, thanks

I am on an online only account.
I think scottish power have actually underestimated if anything.
My pilot light alone uses £10-£15 a month.
I will do a reading today and every month, as per your suggestion.
    thanks

Life's too short to contemplate making a phone call and getting answered by SP.

Just put your reading in online now and move on.
