Parked car hit outside my house by DPD van advice pls

Im working nights and was woken 1500 on Wednesday by loud crash looked out window saw a DPD van manoeuvring near my parked car, couldn't see any damage so went back to bed.

Later when about to go to work saw impact damage on corner of my car.

I have spoken to neighbour and have details of collection she had from DPD she also heard loud noise.

Unfortunately I don't have reg number of van, I have spoken to local depot before I had details of collection they knew nothing of delivery in my area, will ring them tomorrow with details but if they can't or won't admit liability what is my best course of action? Thanks

I think you'll have to pay for the repair yourself (or claim on your insurance if it's worth doing). You have zero proof that the DPD van hit your car so unless they say "yes, it was our driver, here's a big cheque", you've got no chance of a successful claim against them.

report it to the police and get them involved as the van driver has committed the offence of failing to stop

have a look at that news article fined £1000.00 and given 5 points for failing to stop

if there is damage on your car then chances are there is corresponding damage on the van

There's very little evidence that the van driver has done anything wrong, never mind committed an offence!

where did you think the loud bang came from? You should of gone straight out there and caught him. Now there is very little you can do. even if you find the van with the damage on there is nothing to say it hit your car.

Without the reg no the police will do nothing.
