DLA payment stopped and forced to wait 5 days for reply from PIP dept?

Well thankfully it would appear we have a resolution at long last. Received a phone call today where the caller mentioned the correspondence they had received from my MP and an apology for the mix up which happened to revolve around the fact that my wife reapplied for DLA back in 2012, apparently this knocked something out of sync with the extension of DLA whilst a decision on PIP was made. Didn't really make a great deal of sense to me if I'm honest, but I have been reassured that the missing payments have already been actioned and we can expect to see this in our bank early next week.

Although I was relieved and grateful for the outcome, it still made me wonder that if I hadn't have contacted my MP whether we would have had the outcome ?. Quite frightening really that according to the caller the departments involved were still trying to deal with all the changes recently and if this can happen to us with, what I would consider a relatively simple case, then I dread to think what could happen with a complex case.

Anyhow, hopefully dealt with now and look forward to the much needed overdue payments next week, thanks to all participating in this thread and hopefully it will prove useful to anyone unfortunate enough to be in a similar situation
