Hi all,
I've just found approx 100 US$ in my foreign currency purse, can they be used in the Dom Rep?
Thanks in advance :-)

Yes you can use USD in the Dominican with no problems in tourist areas. You also need to pay the $10 entry visa and $20 exit visa in the airport in USD as they don't accept pesos.
The only time you may need pesos is if you go to any non tourist shops in any of the cities as they generally only take pesos.
We also find having a supply of $1 bills are extremely handy for tips.
We go at least once a year to the Dominican and love it so I'm sure you will have a great time. There are also some very good forums on the Dominican on Trip Advisor.0 -
Brilliant, thanks Jamie.
I'll browse the DR forums nearer the time, we don't go until January so a while to go yet but looking forward to our holiday, thanks again, much appreciated :-)0
