Scotland Tenants - Energy Fix Fee on moving out?

Hello, I can't seem to find a clear answer to this anywhere so I hope somebody on here knows.

I + flatmate have just moved in to a new flat (Scotland) and want to switch gas/elec. Obviously a long-term fix deal would be great, but as we don't know how long we'll be here, we don't want to get locked in and have to pay early exit fees if we decide to move away.

In my last flat, SSE Hydro were our supplier, and they told me that if the reason for ending the contract is moving away (instead of just switching supplier), then the exit fee is not applied.

Does this apply to all energy contracts, or is this just an SSE thing?

Thank you :)
