Is three years the maximum allowed to repay an overpayment ?
An advisor told me that if I can't afford the minimum suggested monthly payments he proposed then I needed to ring another number and my incoming and outgoings would be analysed.
How intrusive are they into your household finances ? I have nothing to hide but I don't want to end up having to make a higher monthly repayment simply because they believe I can afford to do so.
Is it a negotiation or do they judge what you can afford and that's the end of the discussion ?

Up to 10 years if they have Income and Expenditure details.
If you make a reasonable offer after discussing your main income/outgoings then they might accept it.
If they want all of the figures, i would suggest you do one yourself and look at your disposable income figure at the end and see how close that is to what you were thinking.
