PPI Account Numbers

Hi,
Does anyone know if I can find out what my mortgage account number was. I know I had PPI on my mortgage account, but this is going back to 2000 any I no longer have the paper work. Apparently the banks only save records for 6 years.?

  • Do you remember who the lender was, who arranged the mortgage, and what would be your reason(s) for complaint?

It was normally a good idea to have this on a mortgage, it paid the mortgage if you were out of work or sick etc.

You would have to have a provable reason to complain about a miss sale. It really doenst sound hopeful

Personally, I think mortgage ppi is a wonderful thing, its kept a roof over my family on two separate occasions, but it might not be right for everyone.

So what you should do is phone the mortgage lender, they could still have a note of your account on their systems. If not, you could send them a SAR, or, request bank statements from your current account which should show the mortgage and ppi direct debits, although you might have to pay for them.
