Smart Parking "Fine" - should I pay it??

Just had a parking "ticket" from a private company "Smart Parking"

It relates to a car park in Birkenhead. There was no obvious notice as to terms of any parking fee, and I was all ready to pay on exiting, but received the "Notice" instead.

The forum won't let me attach a photo of the ticket, but it doesn't contain anything relating to a government body.

I'm assuming it'll be followed by a letter from to my DVLA released address if I don't pay?

Is this just a private company scam or do I need to pay it??

Thanks in advance.

    Hi

Hopefully you will find this now it has been moved.
Have a read of the newbie thread (see my signature to find it).
This will tell you all you need to appeal.
Send off template in newbie thread post 1. Smart will probably cancel. But if not come back and we will hit them with a winning POPLA appeal.(although we don't wrote many for Smart as they cancel almost immediately!)

But do wait for the NTK.

And if you can do complain to asda or whoever.
Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking.
