Faulty Replacement Goods

Hi,
I bought a Grade A refurb PVR (HD recorder) last year. It failed pretty quickly so we returned it for a replacement. The replacement failed within 30 minutes so we reluctantly agreed to accept a third unit. The 3rd unit worked for about 6 months before it too failed so we took yet another replacement which failed within a couple of days.
By failed I mean the box kept locking out, freezing, failing to record programmes and every time there's an issue they ask you to reset the box which in turn deletes your recordings. Not much use having a recorder when you have to keep wiping the recordings.
Given that they are unable to provide a replacement of satisfactory quality and they have been given ample opportunity to do so am I within my rights to ask for a refund? Is there any incentive for them to replace the unit with one which works or is it acceptable to keep replacing with a faulty unit so long as they are seen to be replacing it?
Thanks in advance,
Charlie

Yes you can ask for a refund but bear in mind that they can deduct an amount for the use you've already had since you purchased the PVR. How much did you originally pay and when did you buy it?0

We bought it 12 months ago and paid £149 plus delivery0
