Experian credit score - doesn't make sense?

Options
Hi,

My husband and I are going to look to apply for a mortgage in a year to 18 months time so we are trying to get everything in order. My husband has a good credit history and always pays everything on time etc. etc, I now manage my accounts well but went bankrupt in July 2010 due to debts from years before that that I could no longer repay.

We applied online to Experian for the credit report and my husband got a score of 981, excellent, and some of the creditors showed up, e.g Tesco Credit card but not other people who he has accounts with, for example his mobile phone did not show up? I applied for my credit file online and they sent me a pin in the post, when I received this today and logged in my score was 999, the best you can get, and it only showed up my one credit file which is a catalogue that I occasionally use and currently have a 0 balance on.

The OR wrote to me a month ago to say they were clearing my file off, I was discharged in 2011, to be honest I wasn't sure what the OR meant and didn't query it but cannot believe that my credit score is correct or that none of the people I owed money to show on there? Is this credit report worth anything?

My husband may well apply for a shared ownership mortgage on his own or, if I can get the right advice from an IFA (no-one is replying to my enquiries :(, we hope to apply for a joint mortgage but I don't really know where to start.

Can anyone advise please?

Thanks

Donna

Yes, I advise you to read the sticky thread at the top of the forum, my signature and also the many threads on this board that talk about the non existent scores.

Hi Donna, your credit report should contain all the information that we hold in your name at the address that you have supplied in your application.

If you the accounts that you were expecting to see were recorded at a previous address, make sure this address is added to your profile so that any relevant information at the address will be retrieved when you view the report.

Closed accounts and judgements are held on a report for six years, after this they will come off automatically, if it's been six years since the accounts were closed they would no longer show.

If you would like me to take a look at your report email your details and I will be happy to help.

    Regards

^ no mention of the meaningless score from the Experian rep, despite the title of the thread and references to it.
