supplier of goods releasing previous address to a third party

Hi, I'm not at all sure that 1. this is the right forum for the question & 2. that I necessarily have anything to worry about, so apologies in advance !

How worried would you be if a company released details of your previous address to a third party ? I'm vaguely uneasy, but not sure why. It may stem from a worry that previous addresses are used in identification questions.

Should I be concerned at all?

To me, it would entirely depend on the companies concerned, particularly who the third party was, if I had given permission for them to do this, and what they were going to do with that information.

A company made a mistake and gave your old address to a courier company in error.

Are you also worried that courier companies are routinely given your current address?
Of course they couldn't do their job without it, but that, to me, sounds far more dangerous.

    Probably very little :)

Just feel uneasy, but am happy for all of your reassurances, many thanks !
