Two year old gas boiler

Do you have to accept a repair on a two year old gas boiler. We have had to call out engineers on a few occasions with faults, and we now have Worcester out today. I don't want to accept a repair, because the last boiler we had, was repaired at first, but gave us nothing but trouble over the years. Surely a boiler should not have faults like this? What are my rights?

Personally if the company were offering a free repair (I say free as you haven't mentioned any costs), then I'd be perfectly happy to accept this and get parts installed that work. There's no real likelihood you 're going to get a refund after 2 years and even if they offered such they could reduce the refund amount to cover the 2 years use you've had of it...

If it's a 2 year old Worcester Bosch boiler then likely it's under a warranty and you have to abide buy the terms of the warranty, personally I don't see an issue with a repair as long as it fixes the issue and is performed by a competent technician.

If you're exercising you consumer rights then this is an issue between you and the supplier and they would also be entitled to repair.

What boiler do you have and do you know what the fault is?

If it has been fitted by an authorised WB installer, you would get 5 years P&L warranty on it anyway.

Question though, did you get it serviced 12 months after it was installed? If not you have voided any warranty you had on it anyway, with the manufacturer.

They are a good company, they will get it sorted out. If you insisted on a replacement, who would you expect to install it for you? They certainly wont.

Not necessarily. The free 5 yr guarantee is a limited time promotion only, having said that they do seem to come up quite often so it may well have been in place when the OP had theirs fitted.
