Paternity help

Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for a bit of advice on where I stand with my rights regarding paternity pay/leave.
I have worked for the same company since January 4th 2013 through an employment agency and was only recently 01/08/2014 awarded a full time permanent contract.
Now my problem starts with paternity leave. I am being told that I do not qualify for paternity as I have to have been working for the company for 26 weeks and that all they can offer me Is 1 week unpaid leave.
My partner is due on the 31/10/2014 and if I was still agency I would have been getting 1 week at full and a second week statutory.
Is it correct that I am now not entitled to anything?
Thanks for any help and advice

They just state the eligibility for statutory and ordinary I'm trying to find out if have any rights with regards to my transfer from agency worker to permanent staff as this happened without any break in employment.

I recently had the same situation, took advice from HR and told that the period spent as an agency member of staff did not count for paternity (and many other) purposes.0
