Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 - is it worth getting 2014?

Thinking of buying a tablet for both business and personal use. Need to keep my diary up to date, be able to scribble notes at meetings, update paperwork etc. as well as use it as an e-book reader, play games and go online when I need to.

Is it worth spending the extra money to get the 2014 version of this tablet. I can afford this, but really want to know if the 2014 is significantly better than the old version. I like to buy tech that I can keep for a significant length of time (laptop is now 3 years old and still going strong), so would like a tablet to do the same.

  • Anyone got any thoughts???
  • I have the 2013 version of the Note 10.1 and whilst in John Lewis a few weeks ago, I had a play with their display 2014 model.
The screen is a bit sharper and there is a "home" button on the bottom, but personally, I wouldn't spend an extra £150 on the 2014 model as the one /i have is fine for what I use it for.
  • Thanks Shaun, quite honestly with deteriorating eyesight I am unlikely to benefit from slightly sharper screen as I don't expect to be watching films etc. on it anyway.

Glad to have had input from someone who has had a chance to compare these practically :)
