1st account opening with savings

I plan on opening the 1st e saver so I can open the 1st account with switching reward, but as I go to open the saver it asks about opening the current account at the same time.
Can I switch through this process?
Am I more/less likely to get the account opened doing it at once or separate?

If you're referring to First Direct accounts, you can't open an e saver account unless you have their 1st account.
You can switch once the current account is open.0 -
I mean this saver, which has not got that eligibility from what I can see

As opposed to this account

If you're referring now to switching, you can only switch current accounts, not savings accounts.
It's called the Current Account Switching Service.
To switch to First Direct you have to have a current account with them.0 -
Why make it so complicated? As you want to have a First Direct current account anyway, why not open it now?
As meer53 said, you can switch to it later, when the current account is fully operational.0 -
I know it's a current account switching service, hence me asking about ticking the current account box.
I've not started it yet because I'm waiting for my Halifax 100 quid.0 -
You should treat opening an account separate from switching to it. They are two separate processes, and the CASS only applies to switching.
To get your £100, you have 3 months from opening to do the switch. http://www1.firstdirect.com/1/2/banking/current-account?WT.ac=FSDT_HM_BA1765enojs0 -

...and 6 months from opening in which to open the e-Saver (in order to avoid the banking fee).
OP, the e-Saver is the last account to be opened, not the first! Perhaps you should re-read the replies in your other FD "hoop" thread?0 -
Thanks will do.0
