Conkai Security Ltd

Are now in the IPC dated the 01/09/2014, though their website still shows that they are in the BPA , and the BPA still shows them as members. Now the interesting thing is can they be members of both?

Debt collectors like Poxburghe already are, so I suppose yes. Doesn't sound like a great idea for the PPC though: they need to comply with two, possibly conflicting, Codes of Practice, and whichever IAS they "offer" to a victim, the victim can complain to the other ATA about a breach of their CoP by not offering the IAS!

Conkai seems to be Simon Renshaw-Smith's test bed for new "ideas", so perhaps he's dipping a toe into IPC waters to check the temperature. Excel and VCS in the IPC soon?

S-RS jumping ship? He might just be trying to rock the boat or has he amassed too many sanction points? Interesting.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

If the BPA kick you out, can you just join the IPC? I can't see this "mega operation" ever kicking anyone out! Actually does the IPC have sanctions for its members?

    No they just have merits

Rip off motorist - 1 merit
Lie to motorist - 2 merits
Turn down an appeal - 5 merits
Break the law - 10 merits, a plaque for the wall, membership fees paid for the week, gladstones will send out the next 10 letters for free, honoury degree and a pint down the pub ;)

  • I suspect more will migrate as the POPLA seem to be passing more appeals now people know the GPEOL seems to work. I wonder what the pass percentages are now.

Sanction points are carried forward between the BPA and the IPC. The DVLA confirmed that in writing, saying that the two ATAs have an agreement to advise each other of the sanction points outstanding if a PPC moves. So jumping ship doesn't wipe the sanction points.

  • Always assuming they follow dvla instructions, or is the "Code" more like "Guidlines". Well they are all pirates!

  • Forgive my ignorance but does this mean they can now access DVLA info and issue demands for payment? And if so, do I have to pay? Just received a demand from a debt collection agency on behalf of Conkai relating to a penalty over 5 months ago!

They've been able to get DVLA data for ages. Use the Forum Jump on this page to get to page one and read the NEWBIES FAQs thread.
