MBNA / moorgate and arrangement to pay markers

Hi, I'm a newbie on here, but have been lurking for years! I entered a payplan DMP in 2006 with debts of £37k. I made my final payment in June 2013, never missed a payment and increased payments whenever possible. Fast forward to now, I got my credit report as I'm looking to remortgage and move. All my defaulted accounts are settled and dropped off, except moorgate. They have placed AP or DM markers on my file depending on the agency. These will stay on my account until 2019. I called check my file and they confirmed this one account means my credit score is below average. I called moorgate and they have said they can't do anything and it's correct.
I don't want to exaggerate but I'm in despair, I feel brought right back to sleepless nights and worry about when will I be free of this. I spoke to payplan who said it was " unfortunate". I feel the hard slog doing the right thing and paying back has been a waste of time. I'd be in a better place had I gone bankrupt or had an IVA today.
A manager from moorgate is calling me back tomorrow but I doubt they will change their stance. I'm willing to take this all the way ICO FOS, local MP whatever, I've got 5 yrs held hostage by this.
Has anyone any experience, even better success with this topic and Moorgate? If so any advice would be hugely appreciated. I really need a light at the end of this tunnel.

Hi, I'm in a similar situation with MBNA / Moorgate and have written to them asking for the entry to be changed to defaulted as of a few years ago. (There's an example letter on one of the threads in this forum).0

Yes I've drafted a letter in preparation but from the posts I've seen the ICO are not interested but I don't know if anyone has gone to the ombudsman? Did you speak to them on the phone first?0
-
No, I didn't speak to them first, just went straight to the letter.0

A year out of a DMP won't open many doors in terms of a remortgage. So don't raise your expectations too high.0

Is the information factually correct?0 -
It's the only account out of 6 that still appears on my file so without it my file would be completely clean. In a way it's right I was in an arrangement but the fact it is recorded for longer than if I hadn't make an attempt to pay or not paid the full amount back as in an IVA, is surely unfair?0

Outright default will often lead to a black listing by a lender. The clock doesn't necessarily reset to zero. So there are varying degrees of penalty. Beyond that of CRA data.0 -
I'm not sure I understand, you mean even if a default falls off your file it can still have further consequences? How would they know?0

In there minds yes they put it on an arrangement in feb 2007 for 18 years , in 2009 went to fos over the interest rates which were hike up by 20 per cent they were ordered to refund the difference now pay more then what would have been the payments still showing red ar makers and in arrears on still got years to go or have new defaults added 7 years latter so may be factually correct but very un fair to be blacklisted for 18 years at the least0
