One time password santander techie help please

I am having problems receiving one time passwords on my mobile. They are not arriving within 3 mins usually about an hour later which is obviously no good. Had this happen before and guy at santander talked us through something and fixed it on the phone. We have rang santander today but young lady said we need to speak to o2 which will cost us! Can anyone kind person know what setting we need to change on the mobile. Thanks for reading.

Sorry no idea how to fix your problem but just to say you can chat with O2 for free from your account. As it happens, they fixed a data problem for me yesterday in a chat. Took half an hour but it was fixed.

Just to add that I've had the same problem, but it wasn't due to any phone settings -in my house my O2 mobile signal is poor and sometimes I get two or three texts together, behind sent time.
Now if I'm setting up a new payee with Santander I go out into the road where the signal is stronger and the text comes thru instantly:T

I've no idea if it'll work for others, but I find that sending a text seems to speed up reception of any texts awaiting delivery.
