Hope someone can help as my bank cant! I have received a cheque today in my maiden name and it can not have name changed apparently.
The only ID I have in my maiden name is driving licence with photo ID. All other bills are in my married name
Is there any way at all I can cash my cheque in with only one form of ID? Even cash chequeing companies wont seem to so
Any ideas?

Presumably you have a marriage certificate that evidences the fact that your current name follows on from your maiden name (backed up with your birth certificate if you really need to). You can also remind your bank that your right to use your maiden name is never lost (even on marriage) and you have the right to revert to using it at any time (without getting fleeced for a change of name deed).Adventure before Dementia!0

Which bank, as each bank will have different rules/procedures?
However, most if not all banks should allow you to pay in a cheque in a maiden name, sometimes with suitable ID, such as those listed above: marriage certificate etc.
Also, if this is the bank that you banked with before marriage and changed name to married name, then you would hope they had that change of name on record and could use that as ID; for example I know HSBC will require a change of name to be filed and it is scanned onto the customer's folder.0 -

This.
But it may be easier to get the cheque re-issued in your married name?0
